You will have a long, luxurious massage that uses all kinds of techniques including long strokes, gentle kneading and rolling of the skin and muscles, and maybe rhythmic rocking from side to side. Since this is a full-body treatment, you will likely be given towels or a bathrobe to wrap around you, which you can change in a separate room. During the massage, you will be lying on a padded massage or treatment table and the masseuse will use skillfully positioned towels to protect your dignities. The important thing here is that you feel comfortable. If you are very embarrassed or want to keep some of your clothes on, do so. It’s your massage and you have to feel comfortable if you want to feel more relaxed! A good masseur will work with what works for you.The room should be calm, intimate and warm.Unlike other treatments, relaxation massage usually doesn’t get much discussion beforehand. However, you should let them know if you have any particular physical problems or if you are receiving other medical treatment.

Hand Treatments: Hands are the one area on the body that can reveal someone’s age very quickly and early on. All of our anti-aging facials can be enhanced with an anti-aging hand treatment, so chances are your spa’s facials can accommodate this as an add on as well.

Body Scrub Enhancements: Scrubs are normally reasonably priced add-ons at the spa. An esthetician or massage therapist can easily enhance a service by adding in a foot scrub that is usually followed by extra massage. Paraffin add-ons or scrubs that can be applied to clients’ hands or back are also great options. Clients can’t always reach difficult spots on their back and often neglect their feet, so the results are seen and felt fairly quickly. An added bonus? No wet room needed!

Oxygen Infusion for Facials: Oxygen offers numerous benefits for a more healthy, radiant complexion. Oxygen purifies clogged pores, supports collagen production, and brightens. All skin types benefit from this treatment, especially those suffering from rosacea and acne. If a client’s skin is in need of some TLC, let them know visible results are seen after just one treatment, so we definitely believe this is worth the upgrade.

Hot- or Cold-Stone Facial Massage: Both facial massages and massage-enhancing tools can be added to standard massage options to increase client relaxation as well as your spa’s revenue. Both hot stone and cold stone massages can be great for headaches and are very relaxing. Aromatherapy

What is aromatherapy?

Aromatherapy is the use of essential oils for certain benefits. Examples include lavender, orange and bergamot, and eucalyptus. These “aromas” are all plant-based derivatives from herbs, tree extracts, and flowers. Essential oils are extremely concentrated so to be used correctly they should be diluted into milder oils, humidifiers, or lotions.

The overall purpose of aromatherapy is meant to improve your physical and mental well-being. More consumers are testing out essential oil products than ever before by diffusing them at home or diluting them for skin usage.

Does aromatherapy work?

Scientific research about the health effects of aromatherapy is mixed or lacking.

According to the NCCIH, stimulating oils to boost mood have been found effective in some studies. Examples of these include lemon, orange, and tangerine. However, lavender, though widely considered safe, was found not to affect mood in that same study.

Another study looked at the effects of chamomile and massage therapy for anxiety relief. According to the National Cancer Institute (NCI)
